Event Recap: FURA’s Interactive Session for High School Students & Know India Program (KIP)

FURA Nonprofit successfully hosted an interactive college and career guidance session for high school students, in collaboration with the Know India Program (KIP) of the Government of India.
The event brought together students, young achievers, and academic mentors for an afternoon of learning, guidance, and exploration.

The event featured a dynamic panel of speakers who shared real experiences, challenges, and insights from their academic and professional journeys:

- Gayatrdevi Kamat Tarcar – MS Computer Science, Stanford
- Amogh Kaistha – BA Finance & IS, UW Foster School of Business
- Ashini Jagtiani-Williams – Assistant Director, India Center
Moderated by Ashrita Reddy (Redmond High School), the discussion offered students clarity on choosing majors, excelling in college, and exploring opportunities like KIP.
Skill-Focused Workshops
Navigating College Admissions & Personal Statements
Led by Pritam Parvatkar (UW Bothell, CXO Advisor)
Students received practical tips on writing authentic personal statements, building strong profiles, and understanding what U.S. colleges look for in applicants.
Building Skills for Future Career Paths
Led by Shrikant Palkar (UW & Northeastern Faculty)
This workshop focused on essential skills such as communication, critical thinking, collaboration, and adaptability—skills needed for long-term career success.
Guest of Honor
FURA was honored to welcome Mr. Prakash Gupta, Consul General of India in Seattle. His address encouraged students to stay connected to their roots, explore global learning opportunities, and take advantage of programs like the Know India Program.
A Meaningful Afternoon for Students and Families
Students engaged in open conversations, asked questions, and connected with mentors who generously shared guidance drawn from their own journeys.
The session reinforced FURA’s commitment to:
